A delightful cottage, perfectly situated in this beautiful coastal village. With sandy beaches, stunning views and wonderful local pubs just a stroll away, it's an idyllic setting for your holiday.
Crocus Cottage is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and provides the perfect base for those looking to explore the delights of the heritage coastline as well as those looking for total relaxation in this beautiful area.
The cottage provides accommodation for four people and is an ideal retreat for couples, families and groups of friends. For larger groups Crocus can be booked with its sister cottages, Snowdrop and Periwinkle, which are part of the same converted stone coach house and also sleep four, therefore providing accommodation for up to 12 people.
Downstairs the cottage has an attractive open-plan living space, with lounge, kitchen and dining area. The lounge includes two leather sofas, 32" flat-screen TV with DVD and Freeview, an i-Pod docking station, CD player/radio and a selection of books, games and DVDs for those cosy evenings in. The modern kitchen includes an electric hob, grill and oven, a fridge with a freezing compartment as well as a microcwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere and a small amount of tea and coffee to welcome you at your journey's end. You will also find it is well stocked with cooking equipment and utensils. The dining area seats four comfortably at a modern, round dining table.
Upstairs the cottage has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, each with a wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, WC and wash basin.
Outside the cottage opens up onto a small, south-facing patio area with a sturdy wooden bench and 'bistro' style table and chairs. There is a private parking space allocated to the cottage.
The heating in the cottage is by means of electric heaters in each room, the cost of which, as well as the provision of linen and towels, is included in the price.
Pets - The owners of Crocus Cottage are always happy to welcome well behaved dogs with responsible owners. There is a stair gate available in the cottage for your convenience.
Please note Crocus Cottage is available for short breaks all year round EXCEPT the May half term and summer school holidays.
The village of Embleton is one of Northumberland's true gems. Why not try the wonderfully traditional village pub - The Greys Inn, or try out the Dunstanburgh Castle Hotel, which shares the courtyard with Crocus Cottage. The award winning Embleton Bay is a ten minute stroll away, with its beautiful sandy beach that seems to stretch for miles. Just before you reach the dunes you'll see Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club, which boasts a traditional 18 hole links course with views that simply cannot be beaten. There is also a bar and restaurant in the club which are open to the public. The village has a small shop and post office and for the younger ones there is a delightful, well-equipped and modern play area in the village.
Such is the beauty of the location of this lovely village, there is much that can be done without going anywhere near your car. A gentle stroll up the coast will bring you to the delightful village of Low Newton with its renowned pub, The Ship Inn (which has its own microbrewery!) and picturesque bay. To the south of Embleton it is just a short stroll to the magnificient ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle and continuing past you will soon arrive in the village of Craster, with its harbour and world famous kippers!

All bookings made more the six weeks in advance of your stay will require a deposit payment of 25% of the rental cost, plus a small 5% booking fee, with balance being due six weeks prior to your stay. All bookings made within six weeks of the your stay will require payment to be made in full at the time of booking.
